[Marjane Satrapi] Persepolis

While drinking alchol or depicting God are against the rules of Islam, this is not what Persepolis is really about.
It does not want to shock for the sake of shocking. Instead, it tries to come to terms with growing up, finding oneself and one's own values in a society that sees individualism as something suspect.
The grandmother -- voiced with exquisite warmth and humour by Darrieux -- knows the magic word and repeatedly reminds Marjane of what really counts: integrity.

それは ショックのための ショックは 望んでは いない。 そうでなく、そこでは 個人主義を なにか 疑わしい もののように 見る 社会の中で、成長していく 自分自身や 自分だけの 価値を 見出すことと 折り合いを つけようと している。
祖母 -- Danielle Darrieux*1 による 繊細で 暖かな ユーモアの ある 声だ -- は 魔法の 言葉を 知っていて Marjane に ほんとうに 大切だと みなすものは なにかを くり返し 気づかせてくれる。
