(追記) インタビューの 最後のところを 少しだけ 訳してみる。

(Bill Gates said) We got some IP rights from Novell. Novell's customers got some IP rights from us. It's pretty normal stuff.

The only thing that's abnormal is open source companies hadn't been involved in IP licensing and indemnification before.

In terms of the commercial industry it's business as usual.

(Bill Gates 曰く) われわれは Novell から かなりの 知的所有権の 権利を もらい、Novell の 顧客は われわれから かなりの 知的所有権の 権利を 得た。 その本質 (stuff) は 十分 ノーマルだ。

唯一 異常なのは、オープンソースの 会社が 今まで ライセンス契約と 賠償 (の 問題) に 巻き込まれなかった ことの 方だ。

営利を 目的とした 産業の 立場に 立てば、ビジネスでは それが 普通だ。

('stuff' には 別の 意味も あります。 "It's all stuff." とかネ ... :p)
